Disclaimer & Terms
1) Community Group Status
Seattle Monroe Community Group (“Seattle MCG”) is an independent, volunteer-led peer meet-up community created to support connection and discussion among individuals interested in consciousness exploration and Monroe Institute–related concepts. Seattle MCG is not a healthcare provider and does not provide medical, psychological, psychiatric, counseling, or therapeutic services.
2) Not Medical or Mental Health Advice
Information shared at Seattle MCG events, in communications, or on this website is provided for general educational and community discussion purposes only and is not intended to replace professional medical diagnosis or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified clinician with any questions you may have regarding a medical or mental health condition.
If you are in crisis or believe you may be a danger to yourself or others, contact emergency services immediately or call/text 988 (U.S. Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
3) Safe Use of Audio-Guidance Materials
Some Seattle MCG gatherings may involve guided relaxation, meditation, or audio-guidance concepts commonly associated with the Monroe Institute’s educational approach. Participation is voluntary and at your own discretion.
For safety:
Do not listen to audio-guidance materials while driving, cycling, operating machinery, or performing any activity requiring full attention.
If you experience any unusual physical or mental discomfort, stop immediately and seek appropriate support.
4) Contraindications and Medical Cautions
Do not participate in audio-guided practices without first consulting a qualified clinician if you:
have a history of seizures or seizure-like activity,
have significant auditory disorders,
have a history of adverse mental health conditions (including conditions that could be worsened by altered states, deep relaxation, or intense inner imagery), experience hyperacusis (sound sensitivity), including cochlear or vestibular hyperacusis, or have a condition where sound exposure can trigger vertigo, nausea, pain, loss of balance, or strong emotional reactions.
5) Results Vary; No Guarantees
Experiences and outcomes from meditation, relaxation, and educational audio-guidance vary widely among individuals. Any perceived benefits depend on an individual’s personal engagement and assimilation of the content. No specific results are promised or guaranteed.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Seattle MCG disclaims warranties of any kind—express or implied—including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose—related to participation in community activities or use of educational content.
6) Intellectual Property, Trademarks, and Reproduction
The Monroe Institute®, Hemi-Sync®, Monroe Sound Science®, and Spatial Angle Modulation™ (SAM) are proprietary names/marks associated with their respective owners and are referenced on this website for descriptive purposes only.
Seattle MCG does not claim ownership of Monroe Institute–related trademarks or audio technologies.
Do not record, reproduce, distribute, or rebroadcast any proprietary audio materials in any form unless you have explicit permission from the rights holder(s).
Using proprietary audio with noise-reduction systems (e.g., Dolby® or similar processing) or altering source audio may reduce intended signal characteristics and user experience.
7) Privacy, Recording, and Group Confidentiality
To support psychological safety and respectful connection:
No photography, video, or audio recording is permitted at Seattle MCG gatherings without explicit organizer approval and clear consent from all participants who may be captured.
While Seattle MCG encourages respectful discretion as one of our core values, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in a group setting.
8) Assumption of Risk and Participation Responsibility
By participating in Seattle MCG events and/or using this website, you acknowledge that you are responsible for your own well-being and participation choices, and you agree to follow posted guidelines and facilitator instructions, including opting out at any time.
