Who we are

Welcome to the Seattle Monroe Community Group — a local gathering of explorers dedicated to expanding consciousness, inspired by the mission of the Monroe Institute.

We started this community group because we wanted to create a non-dogmatic space to connect with others where curiosity, insight, and shared experience come together to support individual and collective transformation. Whether you're a seasoned Monroe graduate or newly curious about consciousness exploration, we welcome you.

Seattle MCG is committed to fostering personal and spiritual development by:

• Supporting each participant’s inner journey with openness and respect

• Sharing tools and techniques, including Monroe Sound Science® and guided meditations

• Exploring the frontiers of consciousness in a safe, inclusive, non-dogmatic and supportive environment

• Serving as a local extension of the Monroe Institute's mission to help people “create more meaningful and joyful lives through the exploration of expanded states of consciousness”

Origin Story

Sara was a regular participant at the Monroe Institute in Virginia, where she thrived on the connections formed during programs. Yet she had never met anyone from Seattle, and there was no in-person Monroe Community Group locally, leaving her without a way to continue those conversations and practices at home in the Pacific Northwest.

In early 2025, after completing another program, Sara met Andrew on the airport shuttle. He had also just finished a Monroe program and shared the same desire to find community in Seattle. Both were thrilled to finally meet someone who understood the experience.

The connection was immediate. They decided to start an in-person Monroe Community Group, holding their first meeting in August 2025. The group has since grown and continues to thrive as a hub for consciousness explorers in the Seattle region.
