Good to know
Your questions, answered.
Does joining the mailing list count as an RSVP?
No. Use the RSVP button for each meeting you plan to attend. Enter the date, your contact details, and the number attending.
What does Seattle MCG explore?
We explore consciousness, awareness, and personal experience through Monroe audio exercises, experiential practices, group discussion, and occasional guest speakers. First-time guests and Monroe program graduates are welcome.
Do I need to have attended a Monroe program?
No. Anyone interested in Monroe or consciousness exploration is welcome.
When and where do you meet?
We typically meet one Thursday each month from 7–9 pm at the Good Shepherd Center in Seattle. Please check the current schedule for the date, room, and any changes.
How much does it cost?
Our monthly meetings are free. Special outings, workshops, and retreats may have separate costs, which are listed with the event. You never need to buy anything through our affiliate links to join us.
What happens during a meeting?
Each meeting is a little different. We might listen to a guided audio exercise, hear from a guest, or try a group activity, with time to talk afterward. You can listen without sharing your experience.
Is there a set way to interpret an experience?
No. You decide what your experience means. Personal accounts and scientific research offer different kinds of information.
What should I bring?
Bring a charged phone or other listening device and headphones that work with it, with the Expand and SoundCloud apps ready. A mat, blanket, pillow, eye mask, warm layers, and notebook are optional. Check the meeting reminder to see which audio we’ll use and whether you need to download or purchase it.
Will my experiences stay private?
We ask members to keep stories private and get permission for photos or recordings. Group confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.
How can I help support the group?
Volunteer your time, suggest a speaker, or contact us about meeting space. Eligible purchases using our Monroe affiliate link may also generate a commission that helps fund Seattle MCG, at no additional cost to you.
Can I attend if I have access needs?
Please email SeattleMCG@gmail.com to discuss your needs before a meeting. Chairs are available, and you can join in as much as you like or pause an exercise.
